"In this environment we are living there are many things that put me in tension. We do not react to the social disgrace, or to fatal evidences like that we are literally annihilating the planet (...) That makes me think about how human consciousness works. How image manages to transcend today, being in the era of technology and fake news. Something complicated because we act as if everything that happens around us is a fiction movie, and it is not. Summarizing a lot, my conclusions go in the direction that what we see can be real or not, but provoking certain tension in the perception we can give the weigh of the truth to the final image". The artist Amparo Sard started her career piercing small white papers. Self portraits in surrealistic situations where she was expressing with a very personal language and technique. She continued evolving in her research by enlarging papers and creating white huge fiberglass installations. Today Amparo Sard art is created with all kind of materials: aluminum sculptures, resin paintings, polyurethane, videos and recently with recycled plastic, being also involved in the conservation of the planet and trying to raise awareness.

In her work white color represents what we see from eyes out, a linear reading of our environment. Black, deformations or exorbitant dimensions represents other kind of images totally opposite. They represent what really moves us, what we perceive from the eyes inward, what provokes effective emotion, the tension that awakes our intuition.
"Holes help me to connect everything: breaking the "old idea of the image" but also a representation of this "going trough inside", and hint at its most sinister meaning. To create tension there has to be an initial image, the one that reminds us how "it should be", projected by our memory; and a final image, presented to us in the artwork."
